Congratulations to Logan Williams on the successful defense of his Doctoral Dissertation "Ion Acceleration Mechanisms of Helicon Thrusters."Logan graduated with his BS in Mechanical Engineering with highest honors from Georgia Tech in August of 2006, joining HPEPL the same month. His current research involves the testing of carbon nanotube field emission cathodes and dual-use propellants. Other areas of interest include helicons, magnetic nozzles, and computer simulations both chemical and electromagnetic. -
